Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to some often asked questions
Q: How do you charge?
A: In most circumstances I opt for a project rate based on your specific needs, deliverables and timeline.
Q: Do you have an hourly rate?
A: No. Working less than a day is a net negative for me as it ruins my day and I don't like to be punished for working quickly. The least amount of time that you could book me for is 1 day. But look at it this way, you are guaranteed my attention for that day.
Q: When does it not make sense to use a project rate?
A: If the project is relatively quick or requires less pre-production work, then using a Day or Weekly rate makes sense. Then you're booking me for a matter of days or weeks to complete a project.
Q: Do I need to pay anything upfront?
A: Yes, a 25% deposit before any work begins. This gives us both stakes in the project and makes sure that we don't fall into a scheduling black hole.
Q: Do you offer any discounts?
A: Yes! First time clients get a discount as a showing of good faith. This will be noted on your invoice(s). If you choose to work with me again, you'll be bumped up to the full rate, but by then I've already proven myself.
Q: Do I get the working files along with the deliverables at the end of the project?
A: For an added fee.
Q: What's our schedule for communication during a project?
A: We can work out a schedule based on your needs, whether that means check-ins at the end of the day or a progress check-in on a weekly basis. I will be in contact during every stage of the project, noting milestones, detailing next steps, confirming schedules.
