The first time I took on the 100 Days Project, I settled on a concept of state flowers and wildflowers. It seemed easy enough, 50 states would yield 100 flowers that I didn't have to think too hard on. Little did I know at the time that not every state has an official state wildflower (more on this later).
I set up a circular grid template in Flash to keep them uniform in both size and format. Each flower is made up of repeating pieces that fan out from the center point of each circle to maintain a level of symmetry. There was no limit on color, instead I kept colors true to the flowers. Why mess with perfection?
The following wildflowers were listed as unofficial. These states currently do not have official state wildflowers so what I did was to look up what wildflowers grew natively in these states. From there, I chose a selection for each.
